Our Story

We stumbled across the house of our dreams on a trip to the Pyrenees in 2015, it was a coup de foudre.

The estate agent told us it was a small renovation, and we believed him! Perhaps we should have known better, as the house was last inhabited in 1964. And it was clear during our first viewing that there were no modern conveniences such as running water or electricity.

Eleven years after that fateful conversation with said estate agent, having poured all our energy into bringing this house back to life, we are excited to finally realise our dream of living in France and running our chambre d’hotes.

During the intervening eleven years (and more) we have been busy running a very popular country pub in the UK. We have honed our hospitality skills with good ales, fine wines and traditional home cooked food; welcoming guests into our home is second nature.

Justine and I had a wonderful weekend at Maison Lassalle. The house is beautiful, full of history and traditional French charm, with a lovely medieval feel. Mark and Sarah are fantastic hosts who made us feel so welcome, and the food was absolutely delicious.
We were lucky enough to have glorious weather, perfect for exploring this beautiful part of the Pyrenees. Lac d’Oô and its spectacular waterfall and mountain goats were a real highlight, as was our trip up to the chapel at Superbagnères.

We had an absolutely wonderful break in Oô. The house was beautiful, peaceful, comfortable, and perfectly positioned with stunning views of the Pyrenees that made every morning feel special.
Sarah and Mark were exceptional hosts. Friendly, welcoming, and genuinely thoughtful, they made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Their hospitality was a huge part of what made the stay so memorable.
The location was ideal, great for long scenic walks, cycling routes with proper views, and in winter it’s perfectly placed for skiing in the Pyrenees.
It’s one of those rare spots where you can do as much or as little as you like and still feel you’ve had a brilliant day.
And the food… superb. Every meal was delicious, fresh, and clearly made with care. We looked forward to dinner every night.
Overall, a fantastic stay. We left feeling relaxed, well fed, and already planning our next visit.

Maison Lassalle was an amazing stop on our motorcycle tour of the Pyrenees. The house is gorgeous and very welcoming, and Mark & Sarah made us feel right at home and looked after us so well. We loved the local hikes and exploring Luchon, and can’t wait to come back.

Maison Lasalle is friendly, cosy and full of home comforts. We couldn't have asked for a more welcoming place to relax, with such spectacular views! Can't wait to visit again and see it in the snow.
